Self portraiture has been at the centre of my fine art practice for the last 30 years.I am passionate about exploring how and why we create images of ourselves.
Whatever your skill set or experience I'd love to help you embrace photographic self portraits, to share techniques and feedback that will deepen your understanding of yourself and your work.
I look forward to sharing a fun and relaxed few days with you in our beautiful desert home in Joshua Tree and help you reconnect to the real meaning and purpose of your self portraiture.

The Art House Joshua Tree
I lovingly created this space, together with my husband, musician Harry Waters, as a space for artists to slow down, to reflect and be inspired. The thoughtfully curated house has uninterrupted views of hundreds of miles of untouched Mojave desert and is the perfect place to create, show and share art.
Who?
Me! I'm a British Contemporary artist. I have an MA from the The Royal College of Art and BA from Central St Martins school of Art in London. I'm an experienced teacher, lecturer and mentor, and I've exhibited in galleries internationally. My writing has been published in international art publications and my work has featured extensively in the press. Self portraiture has always been at the centre of my creative practice.
Where?
The Art House Joshua Tree is a beautifully curated living and exhibition space designed for inspiration and reflection. Located on 2.5 private acres of desert (with hot tub!) in the high Mojave desert of North Joshua Tree. 15 minutes drive from town and 20 minutes to the National Park entrance.
What?
3 days guided, creative, exploration and reflection, with a small group of like minded creatives.
I'll guide you through techniques to deepen your photographic self portraiture practice and to further understand your personal connection to the motives and meaning in your work. Price of workshop includes a private 1 hour mentoring session on zoom before and after the workshop.

Thursday
3pm arrive at The Art House, sunset supper, and star gazing.
Friday
10am Start. A full fun day of gently challenging, creative exercises, artist slide show, group discussions and self portrait photo shoot. Group sunset supper at The Art House.
Saturday
Sunrise photo shoot (optional if you'd like a lie in!) and yummy breakfast starts a full day of art making and creative exploration. Group lunch and desert adventure. The workshop ends at 3pm
